Just a warning to those who like to go on expensive hamburger rides to
Fulton, NY (FZY), Caroline's on Airport Diner has closed. This Tragic
Food Restriction occurred a month ago. I stopped there yesterday, and
left hungry.

My family's first trip in the airplane was to this restaurant. I was very
disappointed when I learned they had closed.

My first student solo cross country was to Fulton. The first question
that my instructor asked when checking my preparation was "What time
does the diner close at the field?" I was impressed by the amount of
business in the Diner, and the great prices. Well it looks like I will
have to fly to Bradford PA (BFD) for my next 100 dollar hamburger.

AFAIK, there still is an on-airport restaurant at Saranac Lake/Adirondack
Regional airport (KSLK), just northwest of the high peaks of the Adirondack
mountains of NY state. That might be worthy of an XC flight for you. :)

Funny that you should say that, I told Pat, one of the insturctors at
the flying club (Penn Yan) that the FZY Diner was closed, and he made
mention of flying to Saranac Lake to eat. I will plan to go there one day.
